About this qualification

This qualification is designed for individuals with well-developed skills and a passion for delivering recreational services. This program empowers students to work independently and make informed decisions guided by established plans, policies, and procedures. Through this qualification, students gain comprehensive knowledge of the sporting industry and develop essential workplace skills. They learn about session preparation, equipment requirements, client interaction, and first aid. The flexibility of this qualification allows students to cater to their own sporting interests.

Upon completion, students can pursue opportunities in fitness centres, sporting grounds, leisure and aquatic centres, and community recreation centres.

Trainer/Assessor Requirements

Regulatory requirements state that, for some units, trainers must have a collective period of at least three years' experience as a recreational activities leader, guide or instructor (this can incorporate full and or part time experience). Please contact us for details of what each unit requires.
